Curbside Pickup Available
As of Friday, April 16, Ontario has instituted a six week Stay at Home order in its COVID-19 Recovery Framework. The library is open for curbside pickup and computer use. Browsing is not available at this time. Find out more info below.
Curbside Pickup is a way for the Library to lend material to the public in a safe way during a public health emergency like the Covid-19 pandemic. Customers can place holds using our online catalogue or by phone. Curbside pickup is available during our posted open hours.
Is the Library open?
The Library is open for curbside pickup, as well as photocopier and computer use.
Are the computers available?
Yes, in branch use of computers and photocopiers is available under the Stay at Home order.
Can I print a document?
Yes, you can use our photocopier and scanner in the branch, and can also take advantage of our Mobile Printing to print by email, and arrange a curbside pickup. Find out how on our Mobile Printing page.
Do I need a car for Curbside Pickup?
No. Curbside Pickup simply means you pick up your books at a table outside the Library.
When can I pick up my items?
Curbside Pickup will be available during the library’s open hours:
Tuesdays and Thursdays: 3pm to 8pm
Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays: 10am – 3pm
How do I place my holds?
You can place items on hold online through the Library’s catalogue, by calling your local branch, by email at [email protected], or through the Library’s new App. Please have your library card number ready.
How can I browse books?
There are several ways you can browse our collection while we are exclusively offering curbside pickup.
1. Through the online catalogue
2. Through the East Gwillimbury Public Library App, available on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

How can I return my items without entering the branch?
The Library book drops in front of both branches are now open . All library materials are quarantined for up to 72 hours. After they clear quarantine they will be removed from your account.
Why are items that I returned still showing up on my account?
The Library is quarantining items for at least 72 hours before they are checked in and returned to the shelves. As such, the items will be visible on your account online, and your checkout slip. These items will not gather late fees. If you have concerns about your items, please feel free to contact your local branch.
