Curbside Pickup Available on Demand

As of March 1st, 2022 the Library is open for in-person services in accordance the Province’s Roadmap to Reopening Framework.  

Curbside Pickup is a way for the Library to lend material to the public in a safe way during a public health emergency like the Covid-19 pandemic. Customers can place holds using our online catalogue or by phone. Curbside pickup is available during our posted open hours.

 

How can I ask for Curbside Pickup?

When you receive your pickup notice for your items on hold or when you are at the branch to pick up your items just call your desired pickup branch (Holland Landing: (905) 836-6492, Mount Albert: (905) 473-2472) and let staff know you will be requesting Curbside Pickup.

We will check out your items and bring them to you outside of the Library’s doors. Please have your library card handy when you call so staff can confirm you are the authorized person to pick up your holds.

I can’t pick up my books at the time we set, can I reschedule?

Yes, just call your pickup branch and inform them as soon as possible. Just note that holds must be picked up within a week. If a hold is not picked up within one week the item will return to circulation.

Can I print a document for Curbside Pickup?

Yes, you can use Mobile Printing to print by email, and arrange a curbside pickup. Find out how on our Technology page.

Do I need a car for Curbside Pickup?

No. Curbside Pickup simply means you pick up your books outside of the main doors of the branch.

When can I pick up my items?

Curbside Pickup will be available during the library’s open hours:
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays: 10am to 8pm
Fridays and Saturdays: 10am – 4pm

How do I place my holds?

You can place items on hold online through the Library’s catalogue, by calling your local branch, by email at [email protected], or through the Library’s new App. Please have your library card number ready.

How can I browse books under the current regulations?

There are many ways you can browse our collection:

1. Visiting your local branch in person
2. Through the online catalogue
3. Through the East Gwillimbury Public Library App, available on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
4. Request materials on demand in person at the front desk
5. Check out the Beyond the Desk Blog for reading lists from our trained staff
6. By requesting a Book Bundle of specially picked books.
7. By using our Curbside Pickup Form

How can I return my items without entering the branch?
