The Library is Open
These are the new hours for the library at both our Holland Landing and Mount Albert Branches.

Are the computers available?
Yes, the computers are available for one-hour sessions on a first come, first serve basis. All stations will be spaced out to allow for physical distancing and will be sanitized after each use.
Can I browse the collection?
The collection will be available to browse for grab and go service. We ask that customers keep library visits short to reduce the amount of time spent in the library and that you do not re-shelve any items touched while browsing. Staff will collect these items and put them in isolation for 96 hours before adding them back to the shelf.
How else can I browse books?
There are several other ways you can browse our collection.
1. Through the online catalogue
2. Request materials on demand in person at the front desk
3. By using our Curbside Pickup Form

Can I print a document?
Yes, printing services will be available from our public computers. Additionally, photocopying and faxing services will also be available at the front desk.
Is Curbside Pickup still available?
We are still offering curbside pickup, now by appointment. For more information, visit our Curbside FAQ page.
Why are items that I returned still showing up on my account?
The Library is quarantining items for 1 week before they are checked in and returned to the shelves. As such, the items will be visible on your account online, and your checkout slip. These items will not gather late fees. If you have concerns about your items, please feel free to contact your local branch.
Can I use the book drop?
Book drops at both branches are now open. All returned items will be isolated for a minimum of 1 week before being checked in. Please allow up to a week for items to be removed from your account. Thank you for your patience.
Can I browse the Local History collection?
Unfortunately, due to sanitization concerns, the Local History collection remains closed for the time being.
Do I have to wear a mask?
As per the direction provided by York Region, all customers are required to wear a mask and practice social distancing while in the Library. Thank you for your cooperation. For more information on masks, please check out this fact sheet from York Region, or check out their Youtube Channel
Will I need to sanitize my hands?
All customers are required to sanitize their hands upon entering the Library. A hand sanitization station will be set up at the entrance for your convenience. Thank you for your cooperation.
What else can I do to protect my safety and the safety of others when visiting the library?
We ask that all customers practice social distancing (keeping a minimum of six feet from others) while in the Library. We also ask that you do not come to the Library if you are feeling ill or are showing any symptoms of Covid-19.
Can I donate books to the Used Book Sale
Our Giant Used Book Sale has been postponed until April 2021, but we will be accepting book donations at our Holland Landing Branch on October 27th. Due to space and safety restrictions, we may not accept all items brought in for donation.
May I use reusable Library bags?
Yes. Please keep any personal belongings, including carrying bags, on your person. Please do not place them on any library furniture.
May I use the Quiet Study room at the Holland Landing Branch?
No. The Quiet Study room will be unavailable as we begin our reopening to ensure the safety of the public and staff. We will update the public on this service once more information is available.
