Employment and Social Development Canada

General overview of the financial programs available for Canadians during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Employment Insurance Application

Application link for EI regular benefits.

Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) Application

The Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) may provide those who have stopped working due to COVID-19 with temporary income support. If you have recently applied for Employment Insurance (EI) regular or sickness benefits, do not re-apply. Your application will automatically be assessed to determine if you are eligible for the CERB.

The Housing Help Centre

The Housing Help Centre provides assistance for residents of York Region so that they may find and maintain affordable housing. This includes settlement services for new immigrants, and subsidized housing applications.

Town of East Gwillimbury Help for Businesses Page

The East Gwillimbury Economic Development Department has compiled a list of resources for business owners who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The list includes: a Business Assessment Tool, e-Commerce Webinars, and links to Canada’s benefits, tax credits, and new funding sources for business.

Government of Canada

Updates from the federal government on the outbreak, total and confirmed cases of COVID-19 across Canada. The link provides a form to sign up to receive important health and safety information from the Government of Canada.
